SensaLana VIK (Very Interesting Knitter)

At SensaLana you will live a sensory experience where you will explore the textures and sensations that wool generates in its different states. Through a guided process, you will be able to explore this fiber and link its textures to its properties and characteristics as a natural fiber. Finally, we want you to be able to distinguish and choose your yarns for knitting in the future, sensing what they will mean for your fabric.

Sensory Exploration

Knitting is a sensory experience that links us through touch and sight with wool, and through taste with wine and olive oil. Senses and sensory memories are something we develop as we live these experiences; and just like wine, the meaning and sensations of wool are also learned through social interaction with other knitters who share their own experiences and memories with us.

At SensaLana you will learn more about the origin of wools and how each of the 11 steps from the farm to your hands determines what type of wool you will have, how it will feel, how it will smell, and how it will behave in your garments.

Alchimia Brewstillery

It is a Chilean distillery recognized internationally for its Beers, Gin, and spirits. Its APA beers, watermelon, cucumber, cardamom, and other spirits stand out. It was founded by scientists (just like Bagual!!!) and is an incredibly cool place with a mega vacuum distiller!

Wool Guides

Your guide in the world of Gin, beers, and spirits will be Roberto (PhD Analytical Environmental Chemistry), founder of Alchimia, innovator, entrepreneur, and expert in good drinks 😎

Your wool guides will be:

- Katherinne Navarrete: Scientist and long-time knitter. She founded Bagual out of an interest in no longer knitting with acrylics and wanting to have a sustainable textile experience and a story to tell with each skein. @bagualwool

- Inti Pedroso: Scientist and compulsive innovator converted to knitting. With Katty and Aucán, we founded Bagual, and now I am in love with wool. @bagualwool

- Aucán Pedroso: Lover of innovation and sustainable products. With Katty and Inti, we founded Bagual to make the world a better place through wool. @bagualwool

- Marina Torreblanca: Communicator of the textile world in Chile, author of the podcast Knit tan Seria; designer, editor and producer of knitting books, events and magazines. Knitting and crochet teacher. @maritorreblanca.

Materials

To make your experience at SensaLana very complete, we would like you to bring:

• Two pairs of knitting needles or crochet hooks for fine, medium, or thick yarns. For example: needles between 3 mm and 8 mm.
• A knitted garment, finished or in progress. It doesn't matter if you knitted the garment yourself or if it is from a store (handmade or industrial).
• Prepare your senses! Come with a desire to share experiences and live sensations.

Who is it for?

SensaLana is aimed at knitters of all ages. The only requirement is to want to learn, share, and explore the senses through wool.
