Wicked Steek Sweater
The Wicked Steek can be knitted as a sweater or a cardigan. It is an advanced level project, but anyone can knit it because Johanna, the designer, provides explanatory videos for each technique and stage of the knitting process.
This garment is exquisite to wear; it feels warm, and the yarn gives it a drape and texture that makes you want to wear it every day. It's ideal for cold days and/or when you want to show off your knits, because it looks spectacular!
Construction
Level
This Cardigan is an advanced level, although it can be knitted by everyone because it includes video support material for every important step of the Cardigan's construction.
Construction Notes
This design has a BOTTOM UP structure, meaning it starts from the bottom up, from the waist or waistband, to the neck.
Once you have knitted the body length indicated for your size, it should be joined to the sleeves just above the side braids of the sweater.
The model features braids throughout the body and sleeves, and each one should be read from a different chart, to continue with all stitches, sleeves and body, then begin with the raglan decreases, until the indicated length is achieved and knit the short rows, finishing with a 2x2 ribbed neck, here you will perform a steek and knit the button band and buttonholes.
Sizes:
Sizes will result in zero ease. You can measure your chest/bust circumference to know which size to knit. The following table indicates the chest circumference for each size:
| Size | Body Circumference |
| 1 | 88 |
| 2 | 98 |
| 3 | 111 |
| 4 | 120 |
| 5 | 126 |
| 6 | 134 |
| 7 | 140 |
| 8 | 148 |
| 9 | 155 |
Yarn
The Wicked Steek was knitted with Wild Shades by Bagual, which is a two-ply Corriedale sheep wool in DK/Worsted weight, with 200 meters per 100-gram skein. It is a woolen-spun, lofty yarn that provides good stitch definition.
Yardage:
The following table shows the approximate grams for each size:
- Sizes 1 and 2 = 520 to 580 grs | 1,040 to 1,160 meters
- Sizes 3 and 4 = 625 to 690 grs | 1,250 to 1,380 meters

The history of your threads
The history of your threads
In Chilean Patagonia, dedicated producers with over 30 years of experience produce this highest quality wool.
The sheep live on free-range pastures, which preserves the grasslands, and are free from animal cruelty. Our products are 100% Mulesing-free.
Our wool is hand-washed and spun on a small scale by expert natural fiber artisans in the city of Talca.
Then it continues its journey to Bagual, where it is dyed with ecological dyes
free of heavy metals to protect your skin, your loved ones, and the environment. Our vibrant colors enhance the texture and properties of these yarns in your garments.

This is a semi-industrial product where multiple steps are done by hand. We want you to know that you might find small pieces of vegetable matter in your yarn, as well as a little bit of sand when you wind it. Both come from the Patagonian grasslands. (We told you these sheep like to rub themselves in sandbanks 🤭).
Our wool is spun in a semi-industrial mill, and you might find some irregularities in thickness and twist in your yarn. We like it; it gives identity and texture and makes each garment unique.
Your skeins are hand-dyed, resulting in semi-solid and variegated colors. We suggest buying all the skeins for your project at the same time and alternating skeins while knitting if you want to avoid pooling in your garments.
