SensaLana at Viña Terramater
In collaboration with Viña Terramater, we started the day with a tour of the vineyards, followed by a tasting of their fine wines. An unexpected delight was the olive oil tasting, an experience that turned out to be surprisingly delicious.
After this, we delved into the wonderful world of wool. Katty and I shared the journey wool takes from the ranches to the dye pots, and finally to your hands and your creations. We explained the approximately 11 steps of this process, each with its impact and importance on the quality of the yarns and how they feel when knitting and wearing. We were able to explore wool in its different stages, from an unwashed fleece to different types of yarns, and we discussed what each type of yarn means for the garments we create.
We adore this space because it allows us to share a large part of our daily life at Bagual, but also to learn from knitters and their experiences.
The most rewarding moment is seeing the smiles and joy on the faces of knitters as they touch, smell the wool, and then choose the skeins they want to take home, considering their origin, their craftsmanship, their environmental impact, and how they behave on the needles.
Would you like to experience SensaLana? We are already planning more events. The next one will be at Yarncoholic in Valparaíso as part of Expo Raíz, and you can already buy your tickets at this LINK.
We invite you to watch this beautiful video that Marina made, capturing the energy and fun of that day.
