This is Bagual

We started our work in 2020 with the mission of becoming the first 100% traceable and sustainable wool brand in Chile, governed by the principles of Fair-Trade or Just Payment, with positive environmental and social impact, making a difference between the people who generate our materials and their products. We don't want to be the only ones; we want others to be inspired and for more of us to work towards a better future for everyone.

Our wool, yarns, and natural textiles are made without chemical treatments, Super-Wash, or plastic additives; maintaining the essence of the material and transforming into a warm fiber that embraces your skin.

Our wools are hand-dyed and delicately carded, achieving an incomparable texture: soft and fluffy that stands out when stitches are intertwined. It is ideal for knitting light, airy, and warm garments, as well as for colorwork techniques.

The precious Merino wool

Each type of wool has its unique properties. However, to determine the quality of any type of wool, it must be measured in microns to establish a range of softness and fineness among its species. Thicker wools range between 30 and 35 microns.

Merino wool, on the other hand, is between 18 and 24 microns, making it one of the softest and most appreciated by knitting connoisseurs. Bagual produces and processes Merino wool with only 20 microns in thickness, originating from the impressive landscapes of Chilean Patagonia.

Our Corriedale wool is unique

The family of Bagual's founders has been improving and refining the Corriedale breed for over 30 years and has managed to obtain a soft, warm, and resistant wool. Additionally, their ranches are recognized for their positive environmental impact and animal welfare. They are "Baguales" (wild ones) :), going against the grain, rescuing the good in natural things, and caring for the environment.

That's why our Corriedale wool is special. Our Baby Corriedale™ is as soft as Merino, and at just 21 microns, it has an incredible texture. Our Wild Shades wool will delight you with a range of natural grey and brown colors. Oh, and there's more, but we'll let you explore for yourself. 

Intertwined with the environment

Our brand aims to generate a positive impact on the care of our environment, in all its dimensions. For this reason, one of our hallmarks is our commitment to the environment, reflected in our actions to care for and restore ecosystems. For example, we plant a tree for every skein. That's right 🧶 = 🌳, and if you make a sweater, well, we'll plant a small forest of 3 or 6 trees for you. Additionally, we work to offset the carbon footprint of our production to leave the planet better than we found it.
